Interview with Jay – Founder & CEO of JuicyAds

We had the amazing opportunity to sit down with Jay, the CEO and founder of the JuicyAds Advertising Network, for an exclusive interview! Huge thanks to Jay for taking the time to not only talk about business but also answer some personal questions. It was a great chance to get to know the man behind the brand a little better!

Professional Questions

What are the biggest technical challenges when optimizing ad placements, especially in such a dynamic market like the adult industry?

The main struggle of running an advertising network and the associated optimization for ads is the amount of data. We are currently rebuilding our entire ad optimization system from scratch using more advanced data science and statistical analysis than we’ve ever had before. It’s really exciting to run iterations over and over and seeing the improved results.

Can you break down how your ad-matching algorithm works? How do you analyze and target audiences in real time?

Our proprietary ad-matching algorithm evaluates billions of impressions to deliver what we think is the best ad for the impression based on all of our targeting factors. It focuses entirely on the highest revenue for the Publisher, constantly testing and comparing results, but accomplishing that is a lot harder than it sounds and requires a lot of advanced code. We are more privacy-focused than some networks, as we do not engage in any behavioural targeting or “personalization” to the user. Everything we do is related to the website they are on at the time which respects the End User’s privacy and sexual preferences.

How are you incorporating new technologies like artificial intelligence or machine learning into your platform to enhance ad campaigns?

We see AI and machine learning as important to our future growth. We have been using these technologies in different ways, everything from improving and debugging code, to improving our optimization. The possibilities are endless, and clients will be able to see to see the results of some of our larger efforts soon.

What role does programmatic advertising play at JuicyAds? Are you leveraging real-time bidding, and how do you optimize these processes?

All advertising and placements in the JuicyAds network are exclusive to our network. While programmatic advertising and real-time bidding (RTB) are key components of the adult advertising ecosystem, we don’t use them. Today, adult networks seem to keep popping up and they all have billions of ads available on their first day, but that’s because these networks’ inventory are just the reselling and bouncing around of the same traffic and ad placements that everyone else is. That is why JuicyAds stands alone as one of the few networks that isn’t a reseller.

JuicyAds offers many different ad solutions. What technical considerations go into designing and optimizing these formats?

JuicyAds Our primary ad types are Banner, PopUnders, and Native Ads. Our most popular format by publisher earnings are popunders, but by volume it is banners. We are about to release a large update to our adzone templates, including really helpful information and features for both Publishers and End Users. These systems rely on a robust global architecture to operate effectively. We just finished deploying brand new hardware in North America at the new MojoHost Zen data center in Michigan, and next are expansions in Europe.

How does your reporting system for advertisers and publishers work? Are there unique features that set it apart from other networks?

The dashboard allows for a quick view of advertiser and publisher spend and earnings, the underlying breakdowns and campaign statistics allow breakdowns beyond this. Advertisers have a lot of power to access detailed performance metrics, including CTR, impressions, and ROI data if they are using our S2S postback system. Our Adsistant tool allows any advertiser to setup rules-based auto optimization that works when you’re asleep, blocking and whitelisting sources based on rules you can built yourself – and an unlimited number of rules per campaign. Once you create a rule, you can use it for any of your other campaigns too without recreating it. All you have to do is enable it.

What areas of your platform have you recently upgraded, and what technologies played a key role in those improvements?

Most of our largest improvements are in the backend rather than front-end. After rolling out our new UX a few years ago, we’ve been constantly working on our new ad delivery engine. We’re getting ready to launch new ad types later in 2025 based on this technology, then rolling older ad types into it for better performance and efficiency. Most of the upgrades we do are invisible or subtle to our clients. Improved ad optimization (better results for advertisers, better earnings for publishers) is a current focus and ad templates are currently getting a facelift.

How do you collaborate with publishers and advertisers to improve ad load times and performance? Are there any technical hacks that work especially well?

We work with Publishers to try to improve placements and traffic quality. For example, sometimes publishers will have their pops setup so that they are running multiple layers of popunders on their website. This is counter-productive. For the short-term gain in revenues, the profits will slide over time as the quality suffers from those multiple pops. No publisher should run more than one popunder on their website, everything after the first pop is increasingly quality and leads to advertisers blocking the source. The same goes for too many banner ads, less is more. Cramming more ads doesn’t make more money long-term and we do our best to advise Publishers whenever possible of how to be better.

Personal Questions

If your life were an ad banner, what would the headline say—and what image would you choose to go with it?

The last thing I want to do is envision my life as an ad banner and headline, so with only a minute or so to think about this I think after my 25 years in this industry and all the twists and turns of my personal life, I’d have to say “Life’s too short to be afraid to fail” because its a bit inspiring and on the path to success there’s always a lot of failures first. Its being afraid to start or to fail that holds people back. I have a photo from a mountain bike ride last year that I really like — sitting casually on a bench overlooking the valley at sunrise.

What inspires you more: a spontaneous road trip with no set destination or a carefully planned vacation? And why?

Definitely a spontaneous road trip, which I do almost every summer (usually up the Pacific coast). My favorite thing to do is to have a destination and just go without anything booked. Last summer, a pilot friend and I flew his plane to New Orleans (just the two of us) and we that was a blast! Road trips have taken to the sky!

Do you have a quirky or unusual talent that most people don’t know about?

I read and learn ferociously, everything from business to life hacking, and I’m constantly testing different things with my businesses and lifestyle. The talent part of this is that I can rattle off interesting facts about most random topics.

If you could live an entirely different life for one day, what would it be – and why?

My life is pretty good, but I’m very ambitious and constantly feel like I’m meant to be working on something. The one thing I want more than anything is to be able to sit, relax, and do nothing. I’m not very good at it yet but I’m practising.

You can only listen to one type of music for the rest of your life. What would it be, and what does that say about you?

This is an impossible question because it relates so much to mood and what I’m doing. I love EDM so it would have to be that.

Do you have a ritual or special item that gives you energy or comfort during stressful times?

I write a lot. I find the only way to keep my mind clear is to write everything down. I usually have a notebook with me at all times as I’m very analog and like the feeling of pen and paper. My handwriting is so abstract and messy that it acts as encryption for my notes.

If you could visit any historical era, which one would it be—and what would be the first thing you’d do?

This is tough and I can’t pick just one. I love Italy so ancient Rome would be amazing. The food, the innovation, architecture, and go see Caesar, I guess? Alternatively, I think every kid dreams of dinosaurs so pre-historic times would be awesome to visit but I think I’d probably spend most of my time running away from things trying to kill me.

What technical gadget or tool has completely changed your life, and what could you never live without again?

My smartphone has been on mute since my first daughter was born (phones wake babies) so I wear a Fitbit all the time to know when I’m getting calls or texts. This way, I’m able to ignore everything else and it keeps me distraction-free until I want to take a break. I was an endurance athlete for most of my young life so having all the sleep and activity data combined with keeping me connected makes a Fitbit really valuable to me.

If you could develop an app or software from scratch, what would it do, and what would you name it?

I’m a self-taught programmer and wrote the entire original JuicyAds platform, and I’m constantly building software and scripts. I’m currently building the next-generation Broker.xxx deal-making platform.

If you could sum up your life in a single sentence for a book title, what would it be?

“Build by Ambition: Life, Love, and Hustle”

Interview with Steve Lightspeed from porn.ai

We had the opportunity to conduct this in-depth interview with Steve Lightspeed, the Founder of Porn.ai.

Personal Background

Steve, could you start by telling us a bit about yourself and your journey before founding Porn.ai and Deepfake.com?

Absolutely. I’m a geek at heart. I grew up on the Olympic Peninsula in Washington, tinkering with computers while everyone else was playing sports. By 15, I was already coding. My journey took me to trade school in Tacoma after leaving Arizona State. I ran a successful consulting business for years, but by 1999, I was burned out. Around that time, I was married with kids and looking for something fresh. That’s when my wife, Shannon, suggested I try something in adult. She laid down ground rules – like no screwing around with models – and off I went. What started as a hobby turned into Lightspeed Media, and eventually, the AI-focused projects I’m working on now. It’s been a wild but fulfilling ride.

What inspired you to venture into the adult industry and eventually into AI-based platforms?

At first, it was curiosity and practicality. The internet was booming, and adult content was a natural fit for innovation. I started with softcore sites because it was a unique niche, and I liked the idea of giving models control over their image. AI came much later, as the technology improved. It felt like the next logical step—combining creativity and user engagement to give people content tailored to them. Think about it: instead of searching endlessly for that one perfect scene, you can create exactly what you want. That’s the magic AI brings.

Professional Achievements

You’ve been inducted into the AVN Hall of Fame and have created a network of premium websites. How have those experiences shaped your current projects?

Being recognized by AVN was a humbling experience. It validated all the hard work and risk-taking. Building those websites taught me a ton about branding, consistency, and trust. For example, we created a whole “Lightspeed” identity that made our sites recognizable and credible. I also learned a lot about boundaries—both for the business and myself. Those lessons are baked into everything I do now, especially with AI. With tools this powerful, you need to focus on doing things responsibly while still pushing the envelope creatively.

About Porn.ai and Deepfake.com

Genesis and Growth

What motivated you to create Porn.ai and Deepfake.com? How did these ideas come about?

The “aha” moment came when I realized how clunky adult content discovery still was. People want something specific, but they settle for whatever they can find. AI flips that on its head. With Porn.ai and Deepfake.com, we give people the ability to generate content exactly how they want it. The concept was simple: democratize content creation. Let users experiment and have fun. Once I saw how accessible AI was becoming, I knew this was where I needed to focus.

With 2.4 million images and 750,000 creators on Porn.ai, what do you think has been the key driver of this growth?

It’s all about ease of use and community. We’ve made it so that even someone who’s never touched AI can produce amazing content with a few clicks. Our cloning tools let users replicate styles they admire, and the social features let them share their creations and connect with others. For example, one user might create an image of a red-haired character, and someone else can tweak it into their ideal version. It’s this collaborative, almost social network-like dynamic that keeps people coming back.

Challenges

Banking issues and ethical concerns are significant challenges for platforms in your space. How did you overcome them, and what did you learn from those experiences?

The banks were a nightmare at first. I mean, say “AI porn” in a meeting, and watch people’s faces turn into a mix of shock and confusion. Partnering with CCBill was a game-changer—they understood the space and helped us navigate the red tape. We also had to address a lot of ethical concerns head-on. For instance, we implemented filters that screen every image request for compliance, making sure nothing illegal or unethical slips through. The biggest lesson? Be proactive. You can’t wait for problems to knock on your door.

Can you elaborate on your experience working with MasterCard and how regulatory challenges have shaped the development of your platforms?

Early on, someone tested our platform by typing in “Rudy Giuliani” and got… well, let’s just say MasterCard wasn’t thrilled with naked Rudy. That incident forced us to reevaluate everything. We built a compliance framework that’s now one of the best in the industry. It taught us that even the smallest oversight can snowball into a huge problem. Now, every feature we launch goes through layers of testing and scrutiny.

AI and Technology

Innovation

Porn.ai Could you tell us more about the new chatbot feature on Porn.ai? How does it enhance user experience, and what makes it stand out in the market?

Our chatbot is like nothing else out there. It doesn’t just chat – it creates a personality. When you generate an image, the AI writes a backstory for the character and even a personalized greeting. It remembers your interactions, so if you tell it you’re into sports or sci-fi, it incorporates that into future chats. One user told me he chats with his AI for hours because it feels like talking to a real person. That level of immersion sets us apart.

What excites you most about AI’s potential in creating personalized and interactive content?

The creative freedom. With AI, there are no limits. Want a medieval warrior or a sci-fi alien? Done. It’s not just about fantasy – it’s about giving people a tool to express themselves. Watching users bring their ideas to life is incredibly rewarding.

Ethics and Compliance

How does Porn.ai ensure compliance with privacy and ethical standards, particularly around sensitive issues like underage content?

We don’t allow uploads, which removes a huge risk. Every image request is reviewed by AI systems trained to spot anything inappropriate. It’s like having a team of compliance officers working 24/7. We’ve also worked hard to develop filters that catch subtle red flags, like coded language meant to bypass rules.

How do you navigate the fine line between innovation and legislative boundaries in the rapidly evolving AI space?

It’s a tightrope walk. We stay ahead by anticipating where the laws are going and building safeguards into our platform. For example, we’ve already implemented features to ensure all content is 100% synthetic, even though current laws might not require it yet. It’s about being responsible and forward-thinking.

User Experience and Engagement

Community Building

Your platform emphasizes social media-like features and community interactions. How important is the user community for Porn.ai’s success?

It’s massive. Without the community, the platform would just be a tool. The interactions between users – sharing, cloning, giving feedback – that’s what makes it feel alive. One guy created over 10,000 images of the same character, complete with backstories and adventures. That kind of engagement is priceless.

Could you explain how gamification and professional artist support contribute to user engagement?

Gamification makes the experience fun. Users unlock features as they go, which keeps them motivated. And having a professional artist on staff? That’s like having a coach in your corner. Whether it’s advice on lighting or style, they help users elevate their work.

Accessibility

For users new to AI or adult content creation, how does Porn.ai make the process approachable and user-friendly?

We’ve made it foolproof. You don’t need to know anything about AI. Type in a prompt, hit a button, and you’ll get something amazing. Even if you don’t know what to type, you can use random generators to get started.

Future and Market Trends

Video Capabilities

You’ve mentioned plans to introduce video generation by 2025. What challenges do you face in achieving this, and what opportunities do you foresee?

Video is tricky – it’s resource-intensive and expensive. But the payoff is huge. Imagine creating a movie-quality scene in minutes. The opportunities go beyond adult content; it’s going to transform storytelling as a whole.

How do you think video capabilities will redefine the market and user expectations?

People won’t settle for generic content anymore. They’ll expect everything to be tailored to their tastes. Video will raise the bar for what’s possible, not just in adult but across entertainment.

Mainstream Applications

Beyond the adult industry, what potential do you see for AI and deepfake technology in mainstream industries like real estate or gaming?

Tons. Picture a realtor giving a virtual tour where their avatar speaks in your language or a game where every character is customizable down to their voice. AI is going to touch every industry – it’s just a matter of time.

Personal Insights

Lessons Learned

What have been the most valuable lessons you’ve learned while building Porn.ai and Deepfake.com?

Nothing goes as planned. You have to adapt constantly. And never underestimate the value of building trust – with users, partners, and even regulators.

How do you handle mainstream media scrutiny and public perception of your platforms?

I try to focus on the positives. Sure, there’s criticism, but as long as we’re doing things ethically and responsibly, I’m good with it.

Advice

What advice would you give to aspiring entrepreneurs looking to innovate in challenging or unconventional industries?

Be bold, but don’t be reckless. Know your market, build strong relationships, and always have a Plan B (and C).

What role do strategic partnerships play in your success, and how do you identify the right partners?

Partnerships are everything. I look for people who share my vision but bring different strengths to the table. Chemistry is key – you have to trust each other.

Looking Ahead

What are your long-term goals for Porn.ai and Deepfake.com, and how do you envision the future of AI in content creation?

I want these platforms to set the standard for what’s possible with AI. Whether it’s video, interactive storytelling, or mainstream applications, we’re just scratching the surface.

Is there anything you’d like to share with your users or potential collaborators about your vision or the platform?

This is just the beginning. If you’ve got ideas, let’s make them happen. Collaboration is where the magic really happens.

Personal Note

Finally, what drives you personally as an innovator, and how do you stay inspired in such a dynamic and often controversial industry?

Curiosity and the challenge of doing what others think is impossible. Seeing people use what we’ve built in ways I never imagined – that’s what keeps me going.

Interview with Transmodel Larissa-TS

We had the opportunity to have this in-depth conversation with Larissa-TS, a German Influencer, Camgirl and Transmodel.

About Her Career Path and Collaboration with Gianina-TS

Career Start and Inspiration from Larissa-TS

You started your career as an “apprentice” of Gianina-TS. How did this collaboration come about, and how did Gianina-TS support you on your journey?

I had known Gianina-TS’s fiancé and management for years. I am also very open-minded sexually, and I find it incredibly fun and enjoyable to work in this industry. We met up occasionally to exchange ideas, and I showed great interest in collaborating with Gianina-TS and her team.

We live in the same city, which is of course an advantage, so we can meet anytime to discuss new projects and exchange ideas. Gianina and her team supported me immensely from the very beginning. We do not see each other as competitors; everyone supports each other. They showed me the important steps for starting out, introduced me to key people in this business, and helped me create a plan to become successful. In 2025, I will officially launch my career.

What was the most important thing you learned from Gianina-TS, and how do you apply this knowledge today?

Working with fans and engaging with the press. She introduced me to key people in the business, such as production companies, etc. I now work daily with the management team that supports me.

From Apprentice to Independent Personality

How has your role in the industry evolved over time? What motivated you to establish yourself as an independent brand?

I am still very new in the industry. To be successful, you don’t necessarily need to reinvent the wheel; you just need to implement what successful people in the erotic industry have already done. Building an independent brand is important, especially for increasing recognition. Interested followers and fans need to know who they are engaging with.

What challenges have you faced transitioning from the role of an “apprentice” to a confident content creator?
I am currently still an apprentice, so to speak, in my first year of training and am finding my role in the erotic jungle.

About Her Work as a Content Creator

Working on Different Platforms

As Larissa-TS, you are active on platforms like OnlyFans, Fanseven, and 4based. How do you choose which content to share on which platform? Are there platforms that are particularly important to you?

I discuss everything with Gianina-TS and her fiancé, who show and explain the various platforms to me. This helps us assess what is important and interesting for me, especially at the beginning. OnlyFans is, of course, very important, as it is a well-known platform where you can also generate passive income. Platforms like 4based or Fanseven are very interesting because they allow good interaction and communication with fans.

How do you design your content? Do you have a creative concept or a particular style that your fans especially appreciate?

No, not really. I take some inspiration from Gianina-TS, but in general, I create content based on what I think will interest my fans. Everything is included, from everyday pictures to hardcore videos and photos.

Community Interaction and Fan Engagement

How important is interaction with your community to you? Do you have a special connection with certain fans or followers who enrich your work?

Yes, my fans are very important to me. That is why I will now also offer merchandise items such as underwear and autographed photos. A calendar production for 2026 and my own DVDs are also in planning. Everything is still in the early stages, but I am enjoying this work a lot.

In your opinion, what differentiates a successful content creator from others? How important is authenticity in this regard?

I find authenticity very important. That is why I will engage a lot with my fans, asking them what they want from me. I am always happy to take pictures with them and more. Even in my private life, I am a wildcat, but I can also be affectionate. :-)) Reliability and honesty are crucial in this industry.

Daily Work and Content Strategy

What does a typical workday look like for you? From planning to execution – how do you ensure that your content stays fresh and exciting?

I always make sure my website is up to date with schedules, pictures, etc. I go through everything weekly with my team and plan for the upcoming week.

What role do trends and fan requests play in shaping your content? Do you draw a lot of inspiration from your community?
Yes, I am always there for my fans. If they have requests, I try to fulfill them. I am always open-minded and curious about new things.

About the Collaboration with Gianina-TS and Other Networks

The Importance of Collaborations

How important are collaborations like the one with Gianina-TS for your career? Can we expect more joint projects in the future?

Without Gianina-TS and her team, I wouldn’t have had such a successful start. They provide me with security and confidence. She is always there for me when I need her. Yes, in 2025 we will start several projects together, whether at erotic fairs, porn productions, or joint filming or camming. Stay tuned—many things are still in the planning stage.

Are there other content creators you would like to collaborate with?

Yes, I would also love to work with Micaela Schäfer. Additionally, shoots with Andy Star and Mia May are planned. I am really looking forward to that.

Support and Networking in the Industry

How important do you think mutual support is among transgender content creators in the erotic industry?

In my opinion, it is extremely important. Without mutual support, it is very difficult to gain a foothold, and you can learn a lot from each other. I also have the great fortune of living in the same city as Gianina-TS, which makes many things much easier.

What tips would you give to others who want to follow in your footsteps?

Reliability and honesty are crucial, as well as being open to new experiences. It is essential to collaborate with someone experienced who has already gone through both highs and lows. There are also bad actors in the industry, so be cautious when signing contracts and always seek a second opinion from an experienced person.

About Challenges and Personal Growth

Transmodel Larissa-TS The Dark Side of the Online World

As a content creator with a strong online presence, you are often in the spotlight. How do you deal with criticism or negative comments?

In general, I am someone who does what makes me happy. I appreciate constructive criticism. However, when it crosses the line, the fun stops for me, and I am not afraid to take legal action against it.
What do you do to maintain a healthy balance between your public life and private identity?

I try to take things one at a time. In general, I also make time for myself so that I am refreshed and ready for new tasks. My private life and circle of friends are important, but since I am still at the beginning, my business is also a top priority for me.

Personal Highlights and Challenges

Is there a project or moment that you are particularly proud of?

The upcoming productions, such as the one with Mia May, fill me with pride. Also, the fact that there are already several press reports about my work in publications like Eronite, Caszin, or “German Adult News” makes me very happy.

What has been your biggest challenge in your career so far, and how did you overcome it?

I haven’t faced major challenges yet, but they will surely come. It is also great to have friends by my side, especially my role model Gianina-TS.

Future Plans and Visions

Plans for Your Brand

What is your vision for your career? Do you want to focus more on video productions, live sessions, or other areas like acting or fashion?

I want to be successful and will work hard for it. Video productions, erotic fairs, and autograph sessions await me. I also have porn castings lined up with Eronite. For now, these are my main focuses.

What new projects or content can your fans expect in 2025?

As mentioned above, I will be involved in numerous productions and present shows at erotic fairs. Additionally, there will be many surprises for my fans to look forward to. I won’t reveal everything just yet.

Long-Term Goals as a Content Creator

In a rapidly changing industry – how do you stay innovative and relevant?

It is important to always stay up to date, attend fairs, get inspired, and remain open to new things.

Do you have aspirations to work in another role or function in the erotic or entertainment industry someday, such as a producer or mentor for others?

Of course! As you get older, you have to think about the future. But for now, I am giving my all. Later on, I can definitely imagine standing behind the camera.

The Online Safety Act – The United Kingdom is getting serious

0

Ofcom, the British communications regulator, recently published its industry guidelines for effective age verification on pornographic websites. The aim is to protect minors from pornography and other harmful content. The new guidelines stipulate that online pornography providers must implement age verification on their websites by July 2025 at the latest.

According to Ofcom, this decision is another important step in enforcing the Online Safety Act and ensuring a safe online experience for children and young people in the United Kingdom.

Pornography – harmful content?

Robust verification of age is, according to Ofcom, a key component of the Online Safety Act and long overdue. All services that offer potentially harmful content, such as pornography, must ensure by summer that their services cannot be accessed by minors. Naturally, the adult industry is already protesting, as opinions are divided on whether pornography is truly harmful content and should be classified as such. While there may be general agreement on the issue of violence, the topic of sex is evidently far more controversial.

Although no specific details are known yet about what a reliable age verification system should look like, it has been clearly defined that it must be highly effective and accurately determine whether a user is an adult or a child.

Online Safety Act UK Ofcom follows a flexible and technology-neutral approach and does not mandate the use of a specific system. As the UK is considered a global leader in age-verification technology, Ofcom is evidently relying on the adult industry to develop appropriate solutions on its own.

In addition to protecting minors, it must also be ensured that all data protection laws are upheld and that adults can continue to legally access pornography on the internet without facing any consequences.
According to surveys in the United Kingdom, around 80% of all adults support age verification systems in the adult industry to protect children from pornography. Companies now have exactly six months to adjust their online offerings accordingly and implement an age-check system.

What are the exact rules that online services must comply with?

  • Child access check: All platforms with user-generated content and search functions (“Part-3 services”) must now take a close look: Is their offering accessible to children? If so, it’s time for a risk analysis! This assessment must be completed by April 16. Any service without a highly effective age verification system should prepare for the reality that children might access their content. And then? Action is required!
  • Child protection in social media & co.: In April 2025, the “Protection of Children Code” will go live! Any platform that is likely to be accessed by children must conduct a risk assessment by July 2025. After that, they must implement protective measures, such as age verification and other safeguards to keep harmful content away from minors.
  • Age verification for porn sites – No access for kids! By July 2025, ALL pornography providers must implement strict age verification measures. Those who publish their own erotic content (“Part-5 services”) or use generative AI must take action NOW! And platforms that host user-generated pornography (“Part-3 services”) have until July to fully implement these measures. No loopholes, no exceptions—only clear protective regulations!

But what exactly is considered “highly effective age verification”?

Ofcom has defined four fundamental principles:

  1. Verification methods must be technically precise, reliable, and fair.
  2. The following methods are considered highly effective: Open banking, photo ID matching, facial age estimation, age verification through mobile network operators, credit card verification, digital identity services, and email-based age estimation.
  3. Self-declaration of age or simple online payments are not considered valid verification methods.
  4. No pornographic content must be visible to the user before completing the age verification process.

For a long time, Ofcom had hoped that the adult industry would voluntarily implement age verification measures. However, as minors continue to have easy access to pornography online, the UK government is now enforcing legal regulations to address the issue.

This move undoubtedly presents significant challenges for the UK’s adult industry, and it remains to be seen whether a single country taking action will have a real impact in the age of VPNs.

Segpay to offer additional pay by bank option via SEPA

0

Segpay, a pioneer in digital payment processing, announced today that it is adding direct payments via SEPA (Single Euro Payments Area), the European Union’s payment scheme, to its bank-to-bank payment solutions. With SEPA, European customers can make fast, secure, and convenient payments directly from their bank accounts in euros.

There are several key advantages for merchants who integrate SEPA into their payment arsenal. SEPA payments offer merchants a fixed price for all transactions, making the price per transaction lower than for many typical card-based transactions. Merchants can also experience a transactional volume boost while preserving existing credit card traffic and offering customers more convenient payment choices. SEPA provides higher conversion rates than credit cards. Lastly, SEPA payments are available to any Segpay merchant worldwide due to Segpay’s payment processing licenses. Even a U.S. merchant can offer SEPA payments to its European account-holding customers.

“Merchants who’ve added access to SEPA have reported impressive results, including, in some cases, annual growth rates of more than ten percent,” said Segpay CEO Cathy Beardsley. “While results may vary, with SEPA’s higher conversion rates over traditional credit card payments, most merchants are able to increase successful transactions and decrease chargebacks, resulting in a positive impact to a merchant’s bottom line.”

Payments using SEPA are easy to integrate into any existing Segpay solutions package and allows merchants to offer credit cards, PayPal, and SEPA access on payment pages. All Segpay solutions provide a seamless check-out process for customers. To learn more about adding SEPA direct payments or other payment solutions, reach out to our team at Sales@Segpay.com.

Interview with Butch Hildebrand

We had the chance to sit down for an in-depth Interview with Butch Hildebrand – Lifelong Combative Athlete, United States Marine, and a true master of multiple streams of revenue.

Because let’s be real – ”multiple streams of revenue” is just a fancy way of saying “hustling online when you’re not really great at anything in Online Marketing.” 😉

Professional Questions

Career Beginnings and Evolution

From Marine to entrepreneur and consultant – how did your career evolve into its current path?

I tried and failed at a lot of jobs, essentially understanding that I am just not a very good employee.. The Marine Corps taught me to run fast and shoot straight, with acquired targets so I began to look for the people that move the needle within the affiliate industry.. then, I align myself with them as best as possible to learn and grow.

What inspired you to co-found Hangover Shades, and how does this venture align with your entrepreneurial vision?

Hangover Shades was a funny story, i was hungover after St. Patrick’s Day and the sun was shining through my windows.. My Daughter, the other Co-Founder threw me a pair of cheap sunglasses and said here, you need shades, try these… I sat for a minute, looked up the URL and saw it was available.. Thus, it was born… To be honest, i wanted my daughter to experience end to end ecommerce and it’s been a really amazing journey.

Coaching and Consulting

You’ve coached an impressive range of clients, from Olympic champions to CEOs. What is the key to effectively coaching individuals with such diverse backgrounds?

The key is to find a way to challenge them on things they aren’t comfortable with. CEO’s may not understand their diet and fitness, Olympians may not understand a social life. So while they are experts in their field, I try to take a wholistic approach into growth, challenge them where they need it, and demand results… To be honest, it’s quite simple, find a place where people can and need to grow, develop a plan, execute…

How do you approach coaching leaders differently than athletes or teams?

Leaders need to understand general leadership traits… sometimes titles don’t mean anything, in fact, most times.. Some of the mentally weakest people I’ve ever met have the loftiest titles and are the easiest to break. Teaching and developing leaders, even after they have the title, is one of the most rewarding things I’ve done. Their success depends on their team and their team depends on leadership growth. With teams and athletes, its more social, more of a lifelong plan and teaches them to deal with adversity and injury. What are they going to do AFTER they are done competing in the respective sport? Train them for life after, their other coaches have them right now…

Military Background Influence

How has your military background shaped your approach to leadership, both in business and consulting?

As a United States Marine Staff Non-Commissioned Officer, I received some of the best leadership training in the world. Tactful planning and execution matter in business. The ability to navigate tough times with discipline also matters… Running a business is hard, running from or returning enemy fire is harder… Business can be simplified… planned, and then executed…

What aspects of Marine training do you still draw on when making tough business decisions?

Honestly, I look at the decision as “is this life or death”… or does the business absolutely fail if I make the wrong decisions. Well thought out plans, with execution plans, then a supervisory role are crucial and these are the same things I did in the military… Being decisive, tactful, and developing a purpose that eliminates most routes of failure is probably the best attribute that I use daily…

Entrepreneurship

As an entrepreneur, what was your biggest challenge in launching Hangover Shades, and how did you overcome it?

Easily the biggest challenge was working with my then 17 year old daughter as our first business venture together. While it was amazing, it was difficult to have business conversations about budget, etc with her..

What advice would you give to aspiring entrepreneurs who want to turn their ideas into a successful business?

Slow is Smooth, Smooth is Fast…. take your time, READ.. develop a plan, break it as many times as possible, almost to the point that you understand more so every single way that would result in failure, then do what seems to be your best path for success, and do it slowly. Fast money happens but usually doesn’t last… Understand that there will be ups and downs, try to detach emotionally from the project, and understand that business is business…

Marketing and Sales Expertise

With extensive experience in marketing and web advertising, what trends are you currently excited about in the digital marketing space?

The introduction and use of AI with Digital Marketing is exploding and it is so damned cool to see. There are so many marketers that are simply integrating AI into their processes and blowing up because of it. My advice, get REALLY good at prompting AI, use it as a thought locker, and enjoy the ride..

Can you share a memorable success story where your marketing or negotiation skills made a significant impact?

Negotiation is constant, always coming back to the table to discuss, and there can be no titles in negotiation…check your titles at the door. Having said that, there have been MANY times that I’ve saved companies hundreds of thousands of dollars by negotiating them away from their desired partners whom I’m sure they get a kickback from, to a more cost effective partner that does the same thing… There are very few aspects of eCommerce or business in general where there is only ONE supplier.. research and do your homework in negotiation, you will save a tremendous amount of money.. Then, if possible, write it into your contract that any money saved on the budget comes directly to you..

Public Speaking and Leadership

What do you find most rewarding about public speaking? Do you have a favorite topic or message to deliver?

Public Speaking is incredibly rewarding…IT IS SO MUCH FUN.. I get to get up and tell stories about my life and business, and hopefully impact the lives of others……The best part, without question, is once I step off the stage, and I have a line of people waiting to ask me questions, I know my message at least resonated with the crowd… Helping people make money is unbelievably rewarding..

How do you foster leadership qualities in others, especially in high-pressure environments?

Training, putting yourself in tough situations… doing hard things, and expecting pressure.. I lean on my training, really hot sauna sessions, and making sure that any high pressure situation is nothing compared to what I have already challenged myself with….

Negotiation and Problem-Solving

With your expertise in negotiation, what’s one lesson you’ve learned that applies universally, no matter the situation?

Don’t Lie…. Tell the truth, even when it hurts, and be kind in your delivery.. You can be stern and kind at the same time.

Can you share an example of a particularly tough negotiation you led and how you approached it?

I feel like I have had so many, and no negotiation is the same so they are hard to prepare for. However, doing your best to understand the desired outcome of the client is crucial.. Ultimately you want to get to the same place, creating that path, or journey is the negotiation. I approach most of them with the same idea, find the desired outcome, create the journey to get there, show them the path and vision, then execute.

Future Vision

What’s next for you and your ventures? Are there any new projects or goals you’re working toward?

I am currently working on a massive telemedicine project with a company that I have known for years… It feels amazing to tell people when they ask that I am doing my best to improve th health of others. Also, I am working to bridge the gap between the East (CIS Region) and the West through affiliate marketing working with the amazing team at LeadBit… Oh, and then working with some affiliates to become product owners….. so, yeah, I guess I’m keeping myself busy.

If you could innovate in one specific area of business or marketing, what would it be and why?

The customer journey…. I want people to be happy with their product or services received, and then buy again.. I think too many companies operate in a one and done scenario with consumers… retarget them, provide value, and do it with kindness and effective, honest marketing….

Personal Questions

Butch Hildebrand Military and Life Lessons

What life lessons did you take from your time in the military that continue to guide you today?

Personally I try to live by the core values of Honor, Courage, and Commitment which are the same as the USMC… Do what you can to make the lives of those less fortunate better, and have a plan to kill everyone you meet..lol… The Marine Corps was an intense time in my life, I like to carry that same intensity into business..

How do you balance the discipline of a Marine with the creativity required for entrepreneurial ventures?

Luckily, I’ve had really good mentors and I think that is probably what has helped the most. I’ve found others who have served, and then took the path of entrepreneurship and I’ve really leaned on them.

Work-Life Balance

You’ve had such a dynamic career. How do you make time for yourself and maintain balance?

I workout every day, I never miss. A healthy body can perform so stay healthy, stay vigilant.. I know that 99.9% of my business world did not put the physical time in to improve their health on my level on any given morning, so, I wake up and win… Also, I have really good, positive people around me. Surrounding myself with performers has really helped.. When all else fails, go grab a cold draft beer, listen to good music, smile, laugh, and dance… oh and PET DOGS… it helps…

Do you have any personal rituals or habits that help you stay focused and energized?

I love to sauna, as hot as possible, and i will not leave unless i have been in there the longest, metal toughness matters… Then lift weights, literally every day… because strength also matters.. when I walk into a negotiation and understand that I am the physically strongest person there, it is a great confidence boost.

Hobbies and Interests

Outside of work, what are you passionate about? Any hobbies that help you recharge?

I love my daughters and watching them grow and succeed. I love dogs, I pet them as much as possible.. As mentioned before, I love to lift and sauna… House Music gets me through my day, and every now and again, a cold beer with friends…

Do you still keep a connection to the sports world, given your work with Olympic and world champions?

Oddly I don’t really watch sports, like almost at all.. I still have many friends that are connected or professional athletes but for me, I’d rather participate than watch.. I am probably one of the few people that does not have a “Favorite” team….

Inspirations and Challenges

Who has been the biggest influence on your life, either professionally or personally?

The biggest influence on me has been my father and some crazy Irishman named Mike Hennessy, they were my mentors growing up, and while my father has passed away, I still use lessons learned from these two daily.. They were my coaches in wrestling and football, and I wouldn’t have wanted it any other way. Also, my mom, because for years she supported my dad, and my sister and I… and she did it with class and elegance….

What has been your greatest challenge, and how did you grow from it?

I think my biggest challenge has been moving on after a 20 year marriage… My ex is an amazing woman and we had a good run, still great friends, but I feel like I let a lot of people down with ending the marriage.. Realizing that it is MY life to live, and not theirs helps… you cannot please them all but you can be kind.. . And now, I just simply understand that the chapter with her is closed, and there is still a chance to be the man I desire, in MY life.. so yeah, time to start living and loving….

Personal Philosophy

Is there a mantra or philosophy you live by that shapes how you approach life and work?

From my High School wrestling coaches, Keep your head up, and never look back……. Also.. I would be remiss if I didn’t mention one quote from Henry David Thoreau.. “Live the life you have imagined”

If you could go back and give advice to your younger self, what would you say?

Take it slow child, you have a long life ahead of you……have fun, enjoy the ride, and love deeply.

The Fun Side

If you weren’t working in business or coaching, what do you think you’d be doing instead?

I was supposed to be in the NFL but I’m slow, and short… lol… I guess probably teaching like my dad did.. or a lifetime in the USMC…. Ultimate goal is to make breakfast sandwiches on some island somewhere and feed the fisherman, with hopes that they will pay me with their fresh catch later that day… Simple life, maybe a few more kiddos, hopefully a sexy ass wife… hahahaha.

What’s something surprising or quirky about you that most people wouldn’t know?

I am a cancer survivor.. I didn’t mention it earlier, but realizing that we are going to die someday kinda puts things into perspective… Lift weights, train hard, be kind, dance often, love deeply, eat amazing food, travel, drink with locals, and oh yeah, ENJOY THE RIDE……

Blending Professional and Personal Perspectives

Marine to Mentor

How do you translate the discipline and resilience from your military experience into coaching and mentoring others in high-stakes environments?

Planning never hurts, BAMCIS.. Begin Planning, Arrange Recon, Make Recon, Complete the Plan, Issue the Order, Supervise.. Following these steps can and will create massive opportunities for growth.

Diverse Clientele

Working with such a diverse range of clients, from executives to athletes, what’s been your most rewarding client story?

This is a super difficult question… they weren’t clients but my daughters are my biggest reward.. Knowing that they are healthy and functioning in society is my greatest achievement..

Lessons from Failure

Can you share a time when something didn’t go as planned, and how you turned it into a learning opportunity?

Shit, too many times to count.. You either win, or you learn.. No single victory is perfect, and every loss is a learning opportunity. So many times I have failed, you just get up, dust yourself off, and get back in the saddle….

Passion Meets Business

What drives your passion for leadership and helping others succeed in their careers and lives?

The moment it clicks.. like the moment in a person’s journey that I have been fortunate enough to be a part of, that it just clicks.. the AHH-HA moment… Seeing that gives me incredible happiness, makes me who I am.. I’d rather others succeed than myself, I take great joy and pride in this.. I’m good living out of my car, with some workout clothes and a beach nearby, I don’t need shit, nothing crazy, I just have an unreal desire to see happiness in others…

Google’s love-hate relationship with AI-generated texts

0

Is it a good idea to write your website content with the help of ChatGPT, or are AI generated texts not so good after all? We want to get to the bottom of this question in this article, which incidentally was not written by an AI.

What Google says about AI texts

Let’s first take a look at the official Google guidelines. It says that Google doesn’t really care whether a human, an AI or whatever has written an article as long as it contains added value for its readers. So far so good, you might think, but unfortunately it’s not that simple.
Logically, Google has an interest in ensuring that visitors who come to a website via the search engine are satisfied. Because then there is a high probability that they will continue to trust Google’s search results in the future.

However, I have been a website operator myself for decades, creating new content on a daily basis, and my experience with AI-generated texts and Google search unfortunately does not match up with the Google guidelines.

Experience shows that texts that have been created with the help of AI to a greater extent than 15-20% often receive significantly lower rankings than completely handwritten articles. And this fact naturally raises further questions, because how does a search engine even know whether a text was written by a human or by an AI?

Can AI-generated texts really be recognized as such?

AI generated texts Let’s take a closer look at the AI detection software ZeroGPT as an example. ZeroGPT is a free ChatGPT detector and AI content detector tool for detecting such texts. So far so good, but unfortunately this software is more of a rough indicator than a real analysis tool.

We had ZeroGPT analyze more than 50 texts for this article. And although the results did indeed show a roughly correct tendency, they were also completely off the mark several times. For example, an article that was 100% written by a human was shown to have been over 72% generated by an AI.
On the other hand, a pure ChatGPT article in German was confirmed to be purely human. (The software only worked fairly accurately in English anyway, which must be clearly noted).

And this, of course, poses a considerable problem for webmasters and also for Google itself. The search engine is almost certainly not able to recognize who has written an article and which tools they may have used. This is probably also the reason why the Google guidelines do not go into the issue in any depth. People don’t like to talk about topics for which they don’t yet have any real solutions.

Our conclusion on Google and its handling of AI texts

But what conclusions should you draw from this insight, what is the right way for a webmaster to deal with ChatGPT? Should you keep your hands off it completely, use it only for research, or should you have some text passages written to save yourself a little time and work?

As so often in life, our conclusion is: The Trix is in the Mix (bad English, good motto).
ChatGPT is a great tool to do a good job, but a bad tool to have your job done completely automatically. If you want to write new content, ChatGPT can be a great way to gather information and get inspired. Afterwards, however, you should create an article yourself that is perfectly tailored to your readership and has its own authentic style, which an AI cannot (yet) have. Having the AI proofread the article afterwards and improving some of the wording is a great thing and certainly not detrimental to your Google ranking.

With this in mind, grab your fountain pen or keyboard and write it yourself. Not only does this create the most interesting articles, it also keeps your brain young and fresh.
